The TV animated cartoon series Jiao Yulu tells the story of Jiao Yulu’s life from the perspective of family tradition and rules. As a role model for other Party members, Jiao Yulu represents the typical spirit of traditional Chinese culture. During his tenure as secretary of Lankao County Party Committee, Lankao was confronted with the most severe natural disasters, namely, waterlogging, sandstorm and saline-alkali soil. By adopting the working approach of seeking truth from facts and attaching importance to the mass line, Jiao succeeded in the battle against the natural disaster together with other leaders and common people in Lankao County. Though diagnosed with liver cancer, Jiao continued his work regardless of severe pain. He has built the Jiao Yulu’s spirit with actual deeds.
